Next week we are starting Boards Templates implementation. When a person clicks Add Board, he will see a list of available templates.
When a person selects a template, board is created. Then templates popup shrinkes and a person can try other templates and see result immediately.
It will be possible to save current board as a template, thus forming templates library.

Michael,
ReplyDeleteThis will be very helpful for us to create, manage, and share boards. Who is the "owner" of the template? Who can modify and re-save an existing template? Who can contribute to the template library? We would like to manage the allowed contributors or with 800+ users we could get the template area swamped with many of the same templates.. so some control to enable "Add to Template" seems necessary.
We were thinking that only Admins are able to create and delete templates. Do you think some other users should have this option?
DeleteSince we have a large user base.. we actually would like to delegate this to other roles as well as the Admin. We do not give full Admin to anyone since they generally only work in their specific project/process areas.. but we need them to have "Admin like" capability for this (and or their process area).
DeleteAdmin is better than no control.. but also allowing template library access by role would preferred.
I think it should be limited to admins or perhaps add a board admin permission?
