While we are working on fully customizable graphical reports, we will add some predefined reports into targetprocess3. The first one will be Process Control Chart that shows entities distribution by Cycle Time. It will help to identify entities that are unique and do not fit existing process. So you may pay attention to these abnormal stories, features, bugs and requests.

WIP Limits in Boards
We are discussing WIP limits implementation for targetprocess3 and want to ask you feedback.
We are going to create limits per Board. It means if someone created a board and setup WIP limits, they will not change on this board even if user will select other teams and projects in top menu.
Also, we have an idea to treat limits broadly and provide an option to setup limits for other columns and rows:
There will be a Limit tab that allows Board Owner or Admin to set limits. It is enabled only if any axis above is selected.

Rules to indicate limits (counts are global, we should count ALL entities in row or column):

- Count = Limit - warning
- Count > Limit - bad thing
Do you think this concept works for you?

TP3 Private Beta First Impression Feedback
Hi folks,
Now many of you had a chance to try targetprocess3. If you can share your brief initial impressions, what you like and what you don't like — that would be awesome. Nothing special, just very general opinion about the tool and its potential.
Thank you!

TP3 Roadmap
TP3 roadmap is pretty solid. We know the scope, but not sure about the order of features. After the private beta launch in December 12 we will know more. So far, here is it:
Currently we are working in Subbotnik mode to prepare the private beta release. In last 2 weeks we've completed 14 user stories and fixed 98 bugs. The focus is on usability problems and general understandability of the tool.
Right after the private beta launch we are going to start Sort in Columns, Rows and Cards feature, improve filters and allow to Share boards.
Again, this roadmap is as subject to change based on your feedback.

Pre-Beta Face Lifting: Subbotnik and Solid Ivory
We’re working on something at the moment. It has to be a top
secret, but we’re up to release a private tp3 beta by 12-12-12. We’ve been
planning to do this beta release in November, but we still want to make it even
better. It’s mostly some UX face lifting stuff that needs to be done.
Actually, we’ve run TP3 by some friends/clients/partners for
a pre-release usability testing, that’s when it turned out that the cleanup is
really required. We do need to get rid
of the visual glitches, awkward error messages and some weird behavior. For the cleanup, we’re using a work practice
called subbotnik. In short, this is an activity that requires
intense efforts and focus over certain, usually, short period of time (and, no,
it’s not a volunteer work. It’s just an intense mode). Subbotnik has proven to
be the fastest way of cleaning up as much garbage as possible.
So, we’ve been in the subbotnik mode the whole last week,
and now we’re on to the second week.
Here’s how the progress looks after the first week:
One of the most challenging parts about this subbotnik is coming up with daily builds. It turned out that we’re having the same problem as Woody Woodpecker has in the Solid Ivory cartoon. Woody wants his solid ivory billiard ball, and the chicken wouldn’t give it back to him thinking that he’s stealing her egg!
Guess who... is Woody, and who’s the chicken? The chicken
are whoever folks that don’t allow the build to become green, so it can be
deployed at last, and Woody is the Product Owner who wanders around and keeps
asking about the build, and when is it going to be finally deployed, and when
answered that the build is not yet even green, who then would be so kind to
make it green.
It appears that we have overlooked this essential part.
Normally, we release a new build once in 1-3 weeks, and we have a smooth
process for that when there’s no rush. In the past, for a 1-day
subbotnik, it was OK to do this build just once, and not necessarily on
that very day. But here we just not did
it by the book (just in case, the most
ancient preaching about daily builds dates back to Joel Spolsky back to the
far off 2001). We’ve made a bold decision to push commits right to the master and it’s been tough. Sometimes someone would not be
able to do a commit just for a simple reason that the build is either red all
the time, or the automated tests are running. But now it’s somehow turning our
more or less OK (is it edge
of chaos in action, I wonder…) Lesson learned: when the environment is
changing, some new rules should be set for the game.
Also, it appears that subbotnik mode is perfect just for the
clean-up. The progress seems to be great with bugs, but not as great with mini
user-stories. Yesterday we
managed to complete a huge user story (Quick Add in Columns and Rows) with a cycle time 47
days! Obviously, it is wiser to split such user stories into smaller chunks.

Tools in Targetprocess3
Targetprocess3 based on several principles:
- Quickly add data
- Extract any data you want and visualize data in any possible way
- Update data anywhere
Basically, you have tools to add data, extract data, present data and change data with close to zero limitations. That makes targetprocess3 a powerful tool for project management.
There will be several ways to present extracted data (currently available views are marked with bold):
- List. Hierarchical list of entities with full inline edit.
- Details List. Email-like view to quickly review entities.
- Board. Flexible board with customizable rows and columns.
- Timeline. History, roadmaps, portfolio, iteration and release plans.
- Map. Mind-map like network view of hierarchy and relations.
Image below shows a vision of targetprocess3 in terms of tools.
Gray background - tool is not implemented yet
Green background - tool is in development
No background - tool already exists
So far the major tools that you can use right now includes:
- Quick Add
- Board view with powerful filters
- Details view
- Batch drag and drop
- Access to edit card with a single click
